I just wanted to let you know how happy we are with Lucky, the 5 year old Pit we adopted from your rescue. He is, without a doubt, the best dog I have ever met! He even gets along with our obnoxious Great Dane, which is no small feat. This guy has been such a blessing to our family; we’ve only had him a couple of weeks, and already my wife and I can’t imagine being without him! Our boy Lucky, as one friend put it, “never met a stranger.” He loves to love and be loved.
Keep up the great work, Renee. And to anyone reading this who is considering adoption: stop considering and save one of these guys! This is my first Pit Bull, and I can now confidently say you will not regret going with this breed. Loyal, loving, smart, and just as happy as can be.

Thank you so very much for looking beyond all the myths and lies about Pit Bulls and adopting Lucky into your family. And thanks for the kudos! It is a labor of love rescuing Pit Bulls. My rescues are my life!

I adopted Cyrus on 1/27/11. My son and I picked him up from the vet right after he was neutered. He has been such a joyful addition to my household. Everyone who meets him just falls in love with him. Cyrus is the 2nd bully in my life. My eldest son rescued his pit from the humane society almost four years ago. I have been a pit lover ever since. These two dogs have been such wonderful ambassadors for the breed. Thank you Renee, for having such a heart for these gentle and wonderful creatures!

Hello Mary. I just wanted to let you know that I am the previous owner of Cyrus. I am so glad that he was able to find a home, especially knowing that many of the dogs have been here for a long time. Giving him up was the hardest thing we have ever had to do and he was the best dog we ever had. I would have lived on the street just to keep him from going to the pound, so we were very thankful that Renee was able to take him in. If you would ever be up to us coming to see him, we would be very glad to. We miss him dearly and hope he is doing well in your home. Have a great day and give him a kiss for me. P.S. He will chase a ball through water, but didn’t do so well on land if you haven’t found that out yet lol.

Hi Nicole, Cyrus has been such a wonderful dog for us. We absolutely love him! He has adjusted quite well and is not at all spoiled:) My husband tried so hard not to get attached to him. He wasn’t ready for another dog yet but I sure was. It was love at first site for me. We go to the rescue several times a year and when I told Renee we were coming out and I was ready for a dog, she had Cyrus in mind for me. I knew he was the one before Renee even pointed him out. He loves playing with my son’s 5 year old red nosed brindle and his fiance’s black lab pit (7yrs). I think it would be great for you to come by and see him. What part of town are you living in? We are in Rustic Hills just West of Powers and North of Galley. Contact me at cookiesbydehart@gmail.com and we can set up a time. I look forward to meeting you. You and your family did an absolutely wonderful job with him. He is a fine dog! By the way, he LOVES the water. When we take him to the lake, we can’t get him out of it. But you’re right, a bit clumsy on land:)
