Hi! I am Jen Bryant, and I have been working diligently to get the Aurora breed ban repealed. While many have called it a lost cause, and I certainly see why, I am not giving up. I want to thank you for what you do. I also want to say thank you for the response of Joseph Nielsen’s I just found on your website. I have done extensive research on the matter of bsl, but the question of genetic disposition still loomed. I am a science, number crunching, kind of gal. While, for now, Aurora City Council won’t listen to a thing I say (except for Barbara Cleland, she is awesome), I have a response to anyone that asks about the pit bulls so called genetic predisposition to dog aggression. I can’t tell you how much research I have done and haven’t come across anything like that!
Thanks again, and tell those bullys they are loved for me!

Hi Jen,
Feel free to email me at peanutsplacerescue@yahoo.com or drop me a phone call at 719-478-3370.
You can use anything in Joseph’s research as long as you give him credit. He was a dear friend and a special advocate for Pit Bulls.
You are also welcome to come out anytime and meet the Bullys.
Sincerely,
Renee

I have a 9 year old English Bulldog who needs a good home. I have raised Chester since he was a puppy. I have been working long 12 hour shifts for the past few months and don’t have the time to give Chester the love and attention he deserves.
Can you help find Chester a loving home?
Thank you.

Hello, We are wondering if you are taking dogs in? We have to pitbulls. We moved off base when they passed the breed ban. We now have a house with out a yard and having the dogs in the house is becoming to much. They need a house and yard. Both dogs will be 6 this year and they have been together since they were puppies. They are very good with our baby, but they are iffy with other dogs and animals. Please contact me, as I do not want to take them to the humaine society.

Hi, I actually had the same question as Valeria. A family memeber of mine, has a wonderful pit bull. She hasn’t seemed to have any problems with her, just her boys refuse to take care of her and she doesn’t have the time. I have tried finding her a good home, but have had no luck. I really just want the best for her, and i’m running out of time. I’d take her myself but i already have a dog who isn’t dog friendly.

Hello – We have a not quite 1 year old female pitbull girl. All black with a little white She is such a sweet dog. We have had her since she was 6 weeks old. I desperately need to find her a good home as the place she is at is not a healthy one. She stays with my daughter and her boyfriends at his moms house and they do not know how to properly lovingly take care of animals especially a pit. She is not a mean dog she has been around little children and has been socialized with other animals – my daughter and I agree that she needs to be in a stable loving environment while she is still young and can be taught easily. SHe does know some commands and is housebroken.

Are you taking dogs now? My daughter has a PitBull that she cannot keep. The Humane Society does not even put them out for adoption! He’s a sweetie that I do not want to see fighting or put down.

My wife picked up a copy of Atomic Dogg and I saw your article. Look to hear more from me in the future. We’re moving from NJ to Texas to set up an animal rescue/ sanctuary. One of the things that got my attention are your kennels. Could you tell me the brand, and approximate price Since this is going to be a completely new setup I’m not bringing any of my old kennels and fencing.

We pull dogs from a kill shelter that we feel are adoptable. We have two pit bull females that have been raised together and are maybe a year old. They don’t like cats or other dogs, but are great with people. But we cannot adopt them locally, as we just do not have the right potential homes. One is a fawn and one is brindle. They are running out of time. Any ideas?

I suggest you get them posted on Facebook. You’d be surprised how many people in the rescue world promote their adoptables on Facebook. And beg for help with their rescues too! It’s a great resource to use. Where are you located?

I just moved to lone tree and found out within an hour of being here that my beautiful red nose (Maxine) is not welcome. I DON’T want her put down. I also am afraid to give her to just anyone. For fear that they might make her fight. Please call or email me as soon as you can. I would like for someone to maybe hold her till I move to a more friendly neighborhood. Thank you for taking the time to help me with this family emergency

Eddie sorry I missed your call last night. I have a Vet appointment this morning and should be home around lunch time. I will call you then and maybe we can brainstorm a solution for your Maxine! In the mean time do not take her out in public in Lone Tree! If you have a fenced back yard let her go potty in the back yard and then keep her indoors and out of sight. I will aslo copy this reply and email it to you. Please, email me back instead of posting on my site.
SIncerely,
Renee

So i rescued a pit bull over the weekend from being euthanized at the Human Society, he is a wonderful 12 month old blue nose pit bull. He is wonderful with kids, dogs and cats. He has a wonderful temperament and is a gentle as can be. The only problem with him is that he is deaf. I have been able to work with him during the weekend and have trained him to walk gentle on leash and have taught him hand signals to sit. He needs a real loving home that someone is will to work with him. Hopefully you guys can help me.

I have a six year old female pit jack russell terrier mix who has been living with me since she was 6 months. She was rescued from someone in Denver when she was a puppy. She is sweet, loving basically the best dog with adults and children. So affectionate cute and fun. She is extremely smart. She has been trained at Petsmart. She can sit , lay down, crawl, rollover, leave it, fetch (kind of) but does not come immediately and still struggles with leave it when it comes to other dogs, squirrels etc. She gets alongs with cats very well becasue of the cat. She wants to dominate other dogs which after she does everything is find; though most dogs do not like that which starts a fight which she can win. I am looking for a great home for her (who will love her and help her with aggression issues with dogs) or training right away. i do not want to put the sweetest dog I’ve ever known down it will break both my heart and my 10 yeard old son’s heart. Please help or advise. Thank you.

Hello,
I took in my daughter’s friends dog because she was taking her to the Humane Society. She is a single parent and getting help to move into an apartment but not allowed to keep her dog. I knew she wouldn’t have a chance at the Humane Society. Her name is Lucy and she is a Rottweiller/Pit Bull mix. The previous owner has had her since a pup and raised her with her three kids so she is used to kids of all ages. She is 5 years old, spayed and is current on her shots, although I am waiting for the previous owner to find the paperwork for the shots. She is beautiful and loving but does not do well with cats or dogs. She was free fed and overweight. I have her down to a great weight for her size. I have other dogs and cats and can’t keep her in my house and to avoid any risky situation I have kept her in a kennel beside my house. I walk her almost everyday and let her in my backyard for a couple of hours in the morning when I am home. If the neighbors have their dogs out, it is very difficult to get her to focus on anything else but the other dogs. She is very strong and I have had the best luck using a prong collar as she is strong and pulled my rotator cuff in some of our early walks. I have worked with her on heeling and sitting and she does great! She is not a nuisance barker but will bark at the trash truck and other dogs being walked. If she is getting too excited and barking, I can calmly get her to stop. She is trainable. She is the color of a Rottweiler but the size and shape of a small Pit Bull. She loves hugs and kisses. I have two dogs of my own and several cats and with Lucy in the kennel, I have a few neighbors trying to cause trouble with me having too many animals. I would love to find Lucy a forever home. Someone who could work with her and allow her to be a part of the family.

I was there when he was born and love him dearly but fear he will hurt my other dog. I’m very heat broken and fear my husband will take him to a shelter if I can’t find him a home fast. He is very sweet towards people and with proper training i think he would be a great companion. Please please help me I want him to find a safe place to go I just don’t know where to go.

Before you give him up, why not try some training? There is no reason to let him go. Also, try reading Cesar’s books, the Dog Whisperer and look at his videos on line at NatGeo. You can look up different topics such as aggression towards other dogs. Your dog needs plenty of exercise. Two walks a day for at least 45 minutes a piece. Not strolling, but a good walk to take the energy and frustration away. Usually a dog will become aggressive if they are bored which leads to frustration and they have to vent it some how. Best of luck to you. I will keep you all in my prayers.
